Great camera if you can live with one flaw

I have been using this camera for six months - I love it. Many opinions about controls and button placement are just that, opinion. I have no complaints with the hardware from an ergonomic standpoint. The camera works well and the manual is well written. The lens is tack sharp and the auto focus works well. The movie mode has sound and is so-so.
The pictures I have taken with this camera are breath taking. My other cameras are a Nikon N-70 and Nikon N-55, I am as happy with the pictures F300 produces as the images my Nikon cameras produce. The ONLY complaint I have with this camera the shutter lag. It is S--L--O--W, forget shooting sports or active kids with this camera. If you can live with the shutter lag (I can) this is an awesome camera, if not, you may want to smash it with a hammer!
