Looks like Konica Minolta did a poor job on their Z2 battery doors- shouldn't this be a recall item?

The camera takes excellent shots, but the battery door has plastic closure clips that began breaking off within 2 months after purchase. With a little velcro help, the door has remained catchable (even with one hook) until now (3 years later). Camera owners allow these small inconveniences to go unrepaired indefintely, in light of greater personal concerns, but will not only choose a different camera in the future, but a more reliable manufacturer.
All companies need to be held accountable for obviously poor designs.

Contact SONY. Since Konica/Minolta is out of the camera business, SONY has taken over all service issues pertaining to the Minolta brand. If they know of a service advisory for it, you'll find it at http://www.sonystyle.com.

Otherwise, you can always buy a "parts camera" off eBay and have the battery door replaced.
