Erik,
It sounds like there is an electric problem with your camera. Has it gotten wet at all? Given the camera is most likely over 3 years old, you probably don't have a warranty left on it. You can still try to contact Sony repair service (they handle the warranty and repairs on Konica/Minolta cameras now). Sometimes issues like these are due to recalled equipment and you can get a free or discounted replacement. Good luck.
