Re Built in Flash is junk
( - 4/7/06)This isn't a fault it's a feature! Do a search in Google. Basically the intermittent flashing is in place of an AF assist lamp. It hasn't got enough light to focus so it fires up the flash a few times until it has a lock. Once focussed it will take and falsh properly.
