Jamie,

If you're having an overexposure setting, try changing the ISO down a few levels to ISO 100 or 200. If you go to manual and change your shutter speed to a faster speed (you can go as fast as 1/4000 of a second), this could help too. You can also adjust the aperture to a tighter level as well. Good luck and happy shooting.

Andrew

hi andrew, i have tried all this, but as soon as you turn the flash on the camera over rides and reduces to 125 in speed. i did read some other info and they say that the flash can only be used in manual mode. And to do the work on sight with models continuing moving ( outdoors) for the flash to behave as it did on the 700si and 800si i would need to upgrade to a 5600hs flash. would you know if this true. as it seems pointless talking to some kid behind a counter who would tell you anything to get a sale. this is how i ended up in this mess. being told all my old minolta gear would work perfectly on the new 7D. any advise would be greatful jamie.

Jamie,

I've had similar issues with my dSLR, and did purchase an external flash to get the shutter speed that I want. I know it can run a few extra dollars, but its worth it in my book.
