Are any digital cameras compatiable with my older Minolta SLR lenses?

I have 6 older Minolta SLR lenses for my 2 Minolta XD11 bodys. Will these fit any new digital cameras?

Rick,

Your old lenses have a Minolta MD mount. You can purchase an adapter to get the lenses to work with modern A-type bayonet lens mounts. A few cameras that will fit with this adapter are the new Sony a100, the Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D, or the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D. Remember that your old lenses are manual focus, so the autofocus of these cameras will not work. Good luck and happy shooting.

Kevin,

The Sony a100 is compatible with the Minolta A-type lens mount. The Minolta 5D uses the same lens mounts.

This gentleman, Peter Ganzel has a kit which you can use to change the mount on your old lenses ($80 each). I'm waiting until christmas bills get paid before ordering my few for some classic minolta lenses.

Manual focus will work, stop down metering.
