Another Owner frustrated with no battery life

As the others above, we have this camera and after three years we've finally given up on it. It takes great pictures, and the battery power lasted for about a year. Then we started to have the battery problems where we could get two or three shots in before the battery died. So next we had tried the solution that was mentioned above about getting high-quality re-chargable batteries. This worked and we took our camera to Japan and took around 1000 pictures and figured our camera woes were solved. But then we ran into the battery problem again a year later, with the Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries, where we would be out of juice after two or three pictures. Just for fun we would put in a new set of standard batteries and could get one picture before it would die.

End result? After three years the camera is a lemon and even the Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery "fix" mentioned above is just a temporary fix. You will end up with a lemon, it's just a matter or when, as there is no permanent fix.

We've moved on from Nikon after this less than desirable experience.
