battery door keeps breaking!!!

I, too, had problems initially with the battery life. After dumping the batteries that came with the camera and purchasing my own lithium rechargeable batteries (approx. $20) it fixed that problem.

MY BIGGEST ISSUE with this camera is the fact that the battery door is so flimsy it has broken for a second time. The first time it broke I had only been using the camera for about 10 months. I couldn't find my receipt so I had to pay $100 plus shipping, from Nikon, to get it fixed. It has broken, AGAIN, but I can't bring myself to pay for it. Not when I can buy a new camera for only a few dollars more. Am I the only person out there with this problem?!?

I also wish the 3100 had sound capability when in movie mode...not having sound is a waste of a mode.
