Do I haw any right when 2 out of 3 boards failed just 2 months after warrenty expired?

My daughter got Nikon Coolpix 4300 last August. Now flash doesnt' work. Actually camer can take daylight pictures but not at night because there is some electricity problems. Since 1y warrenty expired two months ago we should pay for repair. Licenced Nikon service first came with $100 charges for high voltage board, now they extended it to $300 for the 2nd board out of 3 that were supposed to be inside. We refused those charges for some other new camera could be purchased for same amount of money. Additionaly after being at the Service camera doesn't work at all even at daylight.
Do we have any rights regarding such situation? Or we sould better forget about this Nikon digital camera and turn to another brand? Is there any manufactorar that offer 3y (extended) warrenty period? It look like all equipment nowdays are produced to fail just after warrenty expires.

Unfortunately if the warranty is up then it is up. But you should check Nikon.com to see if there was a recall on that model or if this problem happens all the time. I have not personally heard of it happening.
