Can you be more specific? Was it dropped? Additionally, your camera may be in "sleep" mode. Press shutter-release button halfway to wake it up. See if you're monitor is turned off. Try to reset the camera. You're camera may also be in "playback mode."

Perhaps the batteries are the culprit. Have you tried turning the camera on while hooked up to a computer or via an AC adapter? If so, you can isolate it to the batteries. Often, when you purchase batteries in bulk, it isn't uncommon that some or many of them are near dead or worse. Batteries bought in bulk tend to have a long turnover and such, can lose much of their battery power before they are used. And many batteries such as AAs are general purpose batteries and are not designed for the high energy use of digital cameras and the flashes they trigger. As such, I recommend using high energy batteries designed for digital photography. Varta is a good brand. They are usually sold in camera shops, are long lasting (because they are sold in small quantities) put out alot of energy.
And, even though you think you've put in fresh batteries, underpowered batteries are just as bad. At the very least, make sure you are using Alkalines. Even better, batteries with a higher mAh - like around 2500mAh would satisfy the higher power requirements of your camera.

Absent that, you may just need to have it serviced. Chances are, you're camera's warranty has expired. However, if you purchased it with a credit card, you may have extended warranty time as a perk of the credit card you used. Ask them about that before you send it in for servicing. Understand, however, that with the average repair of a camera hovering arou $180, it's probably As such, it may cost more to repair than it is really worth. The rule of thumb is that if the estimate for repair is north of 50% what you paid for it, you're better off taking that money and buying a newer and upgraded model.

But at least get an estimate on it first after you've exhausted the troubleshooting options.

Well, the only ones who can truly give you a service estimate on your Nikon is Nikon. But I can tell you that the average repair cost of a digital camera is about $180, making it often not worth it to repair. But still, get an estimate from Nikon directly before you decide.

Try using an AC adapter to see if the camera powers on. If so, you can then try resetting the camera. I'd also download the latest firmware update. But I suspect that since your batteries do work on the other Fuji, there's something else afoot in the camera. But if you can get it to powerup with an AC adapter and reset it, that may fix your problem. At the very least you can confirm your suspicions and send it off for a repair estimate.

Oh, and BTW - you may want to type without all upper case letters. In internet parlance, it's considered rude to use nothing but upper case as that denotes shouting online. I'm sure you were unaware of that, but still, thought it was important to advise you as such.

Same thing happened to my 4600.
I had it pluged into my PC and uploaded a picture and when I woke in the morning it was off and will not come back on.
I left the appropriate review.
I'm not holding my breath that checking the memory card will help.
