WHY IS THE VIEW DISTORTED AS JAGGED AND DISCOLORED?

I used My Nikon in my Practice for close ups and found it satisfying for about a year, then when I needed a new battery, replaced it, and for about a month it was fine, then suddenly one day, it showed nothing but jiz zag discolored view and I replaced the card, having a so called pro.suggest that was the problem, and it did nothing to fix the problem. What is the problem? Need to get it fixed. I spent a great deal of money on this camera. It was all the hype when it came out and it was good for a year, but I expected to get more than a year's use out of it. Please advise. FJH

Mine is doing it also. I read that it's a ccd problem. I'm still searching for a remedy also and read one forum that says Nikon will fix for free.
