why does the nikon 7600 have trouble vocusing in low light conditions

the infa red light shows but pictures are not good during day light fantastic pics

Because of the physics of a lens low light conditions promote poor focus becuase the iris is wide open. When you are in high light situations and the iris is nearly closed it has a sharp focus like squinting your eyes. So some cameras have trouble balancing this is very low light conditions just a limitation of the technology.

Yes this is another claim by Nikon that it focusses very well in low light conditions From new mine has been poor and rarely focusses clearly in low light
