Good All-Around Prosumer Digital
( - 2/27/06)I've taken roughly 2,500 pictures in manual mode with this camera, and am completely satisfied with their quality. As many others point out, however, autofocus works only in strong light or high contrast situations, and the flash is too weak. Also, all those buttons in inconvenient places make quick adjustment of mode difficult, as well as causing accidental selection of the wrong one. Otherwise, the camera is a real workhorse, and completely reliable. It even once survived flying out of my hand and landing in the middle of the street in a motorbike spinout, with no damage, not even a scratch. It still works as well as right out of the box. Although discontinued in favor of "upgrades," I'd recommend it as a good choice for high quality picture taking for anyone who is willing to learn how to use it.
