Not so great to begin with.....and now dead!
( - 8/25/05)I purchased this camera several months ago specifically for it's long zoom, high resolution... and my daughter's upcoming college graduation. Thank God it made it through that at least. I purchased expensive lenses for it only to discover that once installed you cannot use any zoom or you get " tunnel vision" with them. Night focusing is all but impossible. Today I attempted to use the camera for about the fifth time since I've owned it and it powered up for about 2 seconds and then went dead. Subsequent battery and flash card changes produced no better results. I called Nikon service and was told I'd receive an email in several minutes to instruct me how to return the unit for service.... That was hours ago... I do not believe I will ever see one...especially since the attending representative speaking with me seemed to have trouble with english. I've owned Nikon film cameras since the Viet Nam era and always loved them. This one stinks! After using Minolta Dimages, and several other digital cams I was really looking forward to this one.....What a disappointment....and now this.
