This camera rocks supreme

( - 12/9/04) This is the second Nikon Digital I have owned, as I traded up from the Nikon Coolpix 5000. The 8700 is my dream come true for a high quality digital camera. While it is true that there is a very slight bit of purple fringing, it is really very difficult to discern by only the most acute viewer. I found that the shot I have taken to be very sharp and of extreme detail. Colour accuracy is excellent and the noise levels at lower ISO's are very good. One only has to try taking low light photos once with the 8700 to be truly impressed with its capabilities. In the hands of the right photographer, this camera rocks supreme among those in the price range. I had to go up to a $1900 camera to find better. Truly a great camera for anyone desiring to take high quality digital photos.
