what replaced nikon coolpix 8700

I want a camera that has the professional qualities of the coolpix 8700, but I don't know which of the new Nikon Coolpix cameras is the best.

There is a Coolpix 8800. Bigger than the 8700, with 10x zoom and optical anti-shake. It seems to be a more advanced version of the 8700 and the buttons, rather than being on the side like the 8700, are moved onto a central control panel. It's worth a look.

i have a coolpix 8800. the only major differences is that the 8800 has 10x optical zoom, Vibration Reduction New 'Extra' JPEG compression, Movies are longer, Maximum ISO is now 400 it has an Exposure mode dial
9 focus areas in manual mode
Additional scene modes: Museum, Sports, Dusk / Dawn and a Higher capacity Lithium-Ion battery (8.1 Wh vs. 5.0 Wh)
