Which camera is better Canon A540 or Nikon L1 ?

I want technical answer. Pricewise am not comparing.

They seem pretty comparable in terms of image quality and performance. The Nikon Coolpix L1 has a slightly stronger zoom and the Powershot A540 probably takes slightly better photos in indoor/ low light situations. I lean towards the Canon but just because I think the Powershots give you a lot more bang for your buck.

The Nikon has some cool features- 15-odd preset scene modes and face detection. It will really depend on what features you like best.
