Side by side shots by canon power shot A75 and Nikon L1, and Nikon had terrible flesh tones, why?

My husband's older A75 3.2 mp camera had great flesh tones with and without flash, meanwhile my L1's pics looked washed out. When I uploaded them, the colors looked the same as on the lcd on both. When I zoomed in on the A75 the detail was very fine, as opposed to the grainy L1. Any suggestions why? Both lenses were clean, and settings were on portrait.

You might check some of the other settings on the Nikon L1. The Canon's have a lot of manual settings that the mostly automatic Nikon might not. That could be a cause. I'd recommend setting your new camera on the finest resolution possible and trying the "night" portrait setting as well. I hope this helps.

also the nikons tend to have lower quality lenses mostly plastic instead of glass lenses. also the iso speeds will be alot lower than the canons so without a flash the canon will also be a more true to color picture.
