It's possible that it's covered by the warranty if there was a defect in the screen. Sometimes it's tricky to convince them that it wasn't due to mishandling, but if it wasn't, it should be under warranty. Depending on the age of the camera, it's really hard to tell what response you'll get, but absolutely give them a call and see what you can find out. Good luck.
