I need a digital camera that I can take close ups with for under $250. I don't need movie capability, but want the JPEG format.

I will be using the digital camera to take pictures of horses' hooves before I trim them and after,so I need a very compact camera that takes good close ups. I don't need anything too fancy and don't want to spend more that $250 and would like to keep it less than that. Thank you.

Anne,

The 8 megapixel Nikon P1. It sells for around $200 and you can purchase SD memory cards to hold more pictures. The higher resolution will also get good pictures of the horses' hooves. The camera also has a Macro mode, which is optimal for closeup shots.

I found a Kodak digital with printer for less than $200.00. It takes the macro pics I was looking for and will even take action pics. Plus, it's very small and easy to hold with one hand when taking pics.

Thanks.
