So Far So Good!
(James Wolfe - 6/10/07)My S1 is approx 1 year old. Purchased because of size, weight, and name. I am probably a C- caliber photographer. Take pics to refresh memory, not build a calendar, etc. Camera has been to Iceland and much of Europe.
Really Like: Size and weight
Really Dislike: Slow shutter or refresh rate.
Really Dislike: Very limited indoor/outdoor flash range (seems to be a issue with many such cameras).
Dropped! Yep, 2 times. Once about 3 feet to concrete floor. And it did bounce! Thought it was dead. Not yet. Auto focus mechanism chatters sometimes but seems to work ok.
Black Screen of Death: I get it once in a while. Did not have any idea what was going on until I read these reviews. My "Black Screen" does go away with I press zoom or on-off.
Summary: Was going to purchase a S1 (or similar) backup camera for next trip. Wanted similar because of extra battery, mem card, etc. Don't think I will get another Nikon based on general reviews.
