I have a Nikon Coolpix s3, on the factory settings but pics at night turn out blurry, like the shutter speed is too slow. How do I take clear pics?

I have the camera on facotry settings and the first month I had it, there were no problems with it. Now, it cannot take pics at night unless I am standing VERY still for almost a full minute and even then, there are blurry parts of the picture. I am just very confused. I have tried to change the shutter speed to no avail.

Hard to tell not knowing the lighting conditions of what you were shooting. Try changing the ISO to a higher-speed, like 1600. Night-time almost always require a tripod - I always use my wireless shutter release. Even though you're using an automatic setting, go to www.kenrockwell.com and review his tips. Very good articles about the ISO/apeture/shutter speed combinations and how the quality of the lenses affect that.

nikon s3 is an automatic camera with least manual settings, the only way to get stunning low light pictures with any camera is to use a sturdy tripod.there is no other way for sharper pictures.
