I like the S600 because it has a wide angled lens, which comes in very handle for friends, family, and travel, for shooting large groups of people, as well as, large landscapes. I think if you went with this camera you would be very happy, both the Canon and the Nikon are close competitors and you won't see a ton of differences between the two. The picture quality of Nikon and Canon tends to be better than Panasonic, so I would stick with this camera.
