I am wanting to get an easy to use, compact camera. I would like to get crisp pictures and have a decent zoom. what shoiuld I look at?

The Canon Powershot series. Currently the best out there. Also, I wouldn't fall for the "more megapixels are better" myth. Often, more MP causes more noise because stuffing more and more MP into a tiny CCD chip makes the chip less sensitive to light, not more.

Get a camera with around 8-10 mp and that'll be perfect for your basic everyday snapshots.
