I have Nikon ED silent wave lenses. Will this work with the d 200?

I own an AFS Nikkor 28-70mm 2.8 and Nikkor 80-200 2.8, both with the silent wave motor. Will this work with the D200 without limitation? ..Thanks, Sal Masanque

They will work just nice. I own a 80-200 AFS 2.8, and it's a joy to use it on my D200 :-)

Yes, all the older and newer Nikon lenses will work on the D200.

I think you are confusing the D200 with situation with the D40 which does not have a motor to drive older Nikon AF lenses (which don't have built-in motors and use a drive in the camera to move the lens' elements) . The newer lenses with Silent Wave technology all have CPU contacts which will connect with your D200. The lens gets the focusing information from the camera through these CPU contacts and the lens' own (SW) motor moves the elements. In a word, YES, lenses with Silent Wave motors work perfectly on your D200 body.
