Can the AF lenses I have with my N65 film camera work with the D200 and the D40X bodies?

I'm kind of dumb, really - it seems like my Nikon AF 28-80mm 1:3.3-5.6G and 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 G (being modern lenses) would work, but, then again, I'm a certified bone-head. Can someone with an I.Q. tell me? THANK YOU

In a word, no. Older lenses will not work on a D40 or D40x as those cameras do not have on-board motors to drive the AF systems in older lenses. Only newer AF-S lenses which have their own motors and receive focusing information electronically from the camera can be used with those two models.
The D200 does have a focus motor on-board though, so both AF-S and older AF lenses can be used with it.

(My I.Q. is over 130)
