I'd by the Canon5D for landscape shots, the contrast and the sharpness is much superior to the D300. Even with the new features and processor of the D300, the Canon 5D would still take much better outdoor shots. The downside to the Canon is that it is much harder to use than the Nikon, and the new Nikon has a better ISO range, which is probably better for indoor shots. But since you're shooting mostly landscape, I'd go with the Canon 5D. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I use a Nikon D300 for Architecture and Landscape. The picture qualities of the D300 verses 5D are largely irrelevant as you can't tell the difference with the Mark 1 eyeball and it's as much about the processing of the data that relates to image quality. What you get with Nikon is access to some of the best glass on the planet, a future proof system, I use a m/f 50mm Nikkor f1.4 that was bought in 1981 (when I bought my only other ever camera new) that still delivers cracking results on the D300. But mostly there is just something about a higher end Nikon that feels right when you hold it. This was as true 27years ago with my Nikon FE as it is now with the D300. No contest mate if you get pleasure from taking the photograph and not just the final image (which is always 1st class anyway)

Aditya, I don't know how you can say "the Canon 5D would still take much better outdoor shots". That is very subjective. Side by side some would agree that the 5D is Slightly better, depending on your definition of better. But, I'm going to use your phrasing to say "nikon glass is much better than Canon glass. I think we can agree that the lens is the most important part of getting outstanding landscape shots. Or, with any kind of picture, the lens is either the strongest or the weakest link. When I shoot in RAW, I bypass much of the "computer" part of the camera, just storing the raw data. Modern cameras are computers attached to a lens.

I was in suffering of the same doubt but ... after many disapoitments with Nikon costumer service for the last years and the new D300 issue, the famous "DBS", I`m seriously think about changing to another brand .
The price of 5D is getting better and it is a very tested model.
The only thing that makes me fell bad is the glass I have, maybe I will let it to be used in the film.
But I`m more near to give a chance to the 5D, only because it`s a full sensor anda very tested model, no common issues related
