Is there any internal memory on the D300?

I forgot my memory card, and took a few pictures, can I retrieve those few pictures from the camera? It showed them on playback - (about 6 pictures,) then all of a sudden said "no memory card" which made me realize I forgot to put it in. There are 2 pictures I desperately want, that were there before the memory card was inserted - I tried to find them when I plugged my camera directly to my computer, but no luck. Any ideas???

According to the specs, no. DSLRs don't usually have onboard memory like point and shoots do. Especially since with 12.3MP, you'd only have able to put a few pictures on them. What you saw was the frozen image which pops up afterwards before it's to be written to the card. Since it wasn't written to the card, I'm afraid it doesn't exist.
Sorry.
