Nikon D40x versus D80

I intend to buy a DSLR cam. Am anovice to photography. In terms of the lens quality and price,which one should i go for? D40x or D80?

It really depends on whether cost matters to you or not. The D80 is a better camera, though not newer, definitely more exposure settings and can take more lenses, so basically the body will be good for you for longer (as you progress in photography). I would say spend the extra and get the D80 if you don't plan to upgrade soon. If you do plan to upgrade as soon as you start getting better get the D40x, then upgrade to the D200. Basically if you get the D40x you get a cheaper worst camera, but have the money to upgrade later on, whereas with the D80 you get a not as cheap better camera, but may have to wait longer to upgrade, so I guess it depends on you. I would say go with the D80.
