Amazing picture quality!

(Sandra - 8/12/06)

I recently purchased the D50 after months of research and debate. I was intimidated about moving to an SLR from my Canon P&S - but holding that camera and taking a few shots at the store really sold me. I picked up the Canon A620 - which also has great picture quality - but it didn't give me the same creative rush that the D50 does. I love the pictures I have taken so far - and I especially love the quick response time. My old camera would take so long to set the picture up that the moment was lost....but with the D50 - you snap and the picture is taken. I haven't played around with the various options yet, but can tell all of you on the fence that the Automatic functions on this camera make you feel like a pro. I upgraded the lens which makes the camera a little heavier, and certainly less portable and accessible compared to my P&S, but I plan on lugging my D50 to all family and friend gatherings and driving everyone nuts with how many pictures I take!

It is pricey - but if you love to "capture the moment" and feel like Annie Leibovitz doing it - I highly recommend this camera!
