Great camera, great value
(Mike Ruthven - 10/27/06)I have been extremely impressed with my D50 since the day I purchased it. Used it to take pictures during a Mediterranean cruise this summer, very happy with the results, beautiful prints (only 5x7 to this point, though, haven't tried anything larger yet).
One thing I might change if I could go back would be to upgrade from the kit lenses. I was cost conscious at the time, so I got the 18-55 and 55-200 kit, and while the 18-55 is fine for its purpose, the 200mm is a little long to use without VR or a tripod in anything but bright sunlight. They have a new 18-135 w/VR that I think is a pretty good value, and I might also consider holding out for their 18-200 w/VR, which I know is very popular (since nobody has them in stock). This also would save lens changing, covers wide-angle and moderate zoom in one.
