Where's the button on the Nikon D50 to turn off the grayscale setting?

I have the 'black flickering' in my LCD screen in white/light areas of photos, just as Connie T did. Where do I find the 'button' to turn OFF the Grayscale setting? Aditya said that is what's causing the flickering....

I'd try resetting the camera back to factory defaults. This is a fairly easy procedure which involves either going into your setup menu and choosing "reset" (or intialize), holding down the menu key for 5 seconds, or, removing the batteries for a few minutes. It may be that the firmware loading got corrupted and the camera just needs to be "rebooted," which is something that turning it on/off won't accomplish. But after which, you should have the camera reset to factory default settings.

Another tip is to go to Nikon's website and look for firmware updates. Download and install them. This should put it back to the condition it was in when you first got it.

I tried your suggestions, both..and you gave thorough, detailed helpful ideas...but I'm still getting the flashing black in the review of pics with bright areas. I didn't go to Nikon's website yet though....How do I 'install' something from the web onto my Camera? Thanks for answering!!

Download the firmware. Connect the camera to your PC. When you've confirmed it's working, follow the instructions on upgrading the firmware from the website. You'll essentially double click and follow instructions.
