No, you cannot set the resolution so low on your D50. There are 3 options available to you in the menu. Large, Medium and Small. The resolution on the small setting is still a whopping 1,504 x 1,000 pixels. So, you'll have to DL the files and resize them.
Did you know that Windows XP tools has a "resize picture" option available with a "right-click" of the mouse? You can resize 100 pics at a time, although, I think the smallest pic size if 640x480, which might be ok for your use?
