Why are some (new) Nikon d70's online $336.00 while usually $999.00?

I have looked at pricings for Nikon d70's and, if bought at stores such as Staples, have found them to be priced near $999.00. However, online shops sell Nikon d70's for as low as 336.00 in brand new condition. Why the significant difference?

Hello Leah , I would stay with a store you can trust such as staples etc. Plus they have a trusted return policy. The online shops you mention state ( brand new condition ) this may mean reconditioned or used. But in their opinion brand new conditioned.As always if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Find your best price at a trusted store and know you will get a fair deal.

The advertised $339 is a false advertising. They had never delivered the product at that price. Your order will always be on the backorder...one time they told me 3 months, I said I'll wait, then later they told me 6-month. They will eventually sells you one at about $750 or so, but with add ons that you must buy. But watch out, these cameras are called Grey Market Cameras...their warranty are not honored by Nikon. So, you better buy the extended warranty..like 5 years.

I have been thru these...I have suddenly find out both of my cameras, D40 and D70 are so called the grey market products.
