(David Johnson - 5/30/09)We purchased the D90 as a backup camera and the results have been very impressive. The kit 18-105 VR Nikkor lens is so good I hope the D400 comes out with that lens. I do rate the 18-200 VR Nikkor as super, but for a kit lens, I'd take the smaller, versatile, and terrific value 18-105 VR. The D90 is one of the best all around cameras i have ever seen. Couple that with once in a while use of other great Nikon glass for a special shot, and you have a true benchmark in photo history. Based on this camera, I predict that the Nikon D400 when it is launched will be perfect. The Nikon D90 right now is where I'd spend my money from any expertise and budget!!
