It does indeed offer a RAW mode, but this RAW mode is different, it keeps more data and produces better images. The tradeoff is that most of the programs out yet (like Photoshop) haven't started supporting this RAW mode yet. I'm sure that once the camera comes out, Photoshop will have a plug in that will support the RAW mode of this camera.
