Professional Reviews of the Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom

  • 4.7 out of 5
If you're interested in long-zoom digital photography, the C-765 definitely deserves strong consideration (Imaging Resource - 9/9/04)

While the Olympus C-765 suffers from higher than normal chromatic aberration, and elevated image noise in dark conditions, this pro reviewer considers these issues minor in light of its otherwise strong performance and good image quality. Overall, a very compelling buy. read original review

The Olympus C-765 and C-770 Ultra Zooms remain at the top of my list for big zoom cameras (DC Resource - 9/9/04)

In a joint review of the Olympus C-765 and C-770, this pro finds much to like about both cameras, but also notes a number of flaws. While they both produce "excellent" images and have a wide range of controls, their electronic viewfinders are too dark to be used in low-light conditions, and the omission of autofocus-assist lamps makes focusing in the dark difficult. The QuickTime movies produced by the C-765 are superior to the C-770's MPEG movies. read original review
