No regrets

( - 12/20/05)

I have owned this camera for about seven months. I have little experience with other SLR digital cameras, but that is specifically why I am writing this review. In addition, this is the first camera I have ever owned.

I have always been artistic and for many years I have wanted to try my hand a photography, mainly because I thought I would be good at it. I am happy to report I am good at it and this camera was simple enough for me to figure that out in short order.

I began by using some of the preset modes (landscape, portrait, etc.) and have now figured out how to get better pictures on the manual setting. I think that alone says something about this camera. It is not difficult to learn how to use it.

The only real problem I have is that, while the two lens package is a great deal, purchasing additional lenes is very expensive. I bought the 50x200 lens and it put me back $1K.

If this story sounds like you, I can tell you I have had no regrets about this purchase. My photos have been crisp and sharp. I do use Photoshop and consider that just part of the digital photography process. Generally speaking, I like to play with the lighting and the sharpness a bit. The color saturation level almost never needs adjustment.
