Hi, Unless you have the Record Settings set only to RAW, then ALL your Photos will be recorded as JPEG, The SQ, HQ and SHQ settings basically set the number of pixels that will be saved and the compression ratio, i.e how much memory will be used up on your Memory Card. If you are just taking Snaps aim for SQ 1600x1200 at 1/4 Compression. For Printing/Editing I use SHQ and RAW at 1/8 Compression but the many choices are yours.
Press MENU/AF/ISO (4 times)/AF and scroll up/down to select SQ, HQ etc. Then scroll back to MENU Spanner1 and scroll down to HQ or SQ to adjust Pixel Count and Compression. Experiment and enjoy!
