Will different manufactured lenses work on other camera bodies?

I have a bunch of Canon lenses and am thinking about buying the Olympus 510 and was wondering if you can mix and match the lenses. I understand the auto focus may not work.
Thanks

You can get adapters which allow you to "cross polinate," but you will have these issues: Manual only. 1-2 stops of light loss to compensate for. Clarity and sharpness issues.

My opinion? Your best options are ... Get a Canon (like the Digital Rebel XTi) or sell the lenses on eBay and use the money to buy lenses for that E510.

The tradeoffs of trying to mate two different manufacturers simply isn't worth it.
