If you need to edit it, why not just download it onto your PC and use a photo editor like Adobe Photoshop Elements (about $90) or even Picasa 2 by Google (it's free!).

If I have the function on the camera I would like to use it. It would be nice to see a photo just taken in black and white or serpia before I got home to download it onto my computer. Thanks anyway.

Page 64 of your manual:

Press the (playback) button (Singleframe playback).
• The last recorded image appears.
• The LCD monitor turns off after more than 1 minute if no operations are performed. The camera will turn off automatically if there is no operation after 4 hours (factory default setting). Turn on the camera again.

2 Use p to select images you want to view. You can also turn the control dial to switch to U for close-up playback.
