olympus 3010 camera, when i try to power it on the lens goes out then in then out and in and them beeps

This is only the second time ive used the camera and it started doing this

If you just got it, I'd return it. YOu could try resetting the camera, seeing if that helps. Clean the battery contacts. See if you can repeat the error with another battery. But in the end, you may just have a lemon.
