What is the difference between the SP 565 UZ and SP 570 UZ?

I trying to figure which of these cameras would be the better one to purchase. The Olympus SP 565 UZ/570 UZ or the new Canon Powershot SX10 IS. All three have the 20X Zoom, which I looking for, however, I also looking for a camera that has a quick response time for multi action shots. I current have a Sony and love it, but I often miss the best shots, because of the recovery time. It appears the SP 570 UZ has the best recovery at 13.4 frames per second. Am I reading that correctly?

The 570 has a larger zoom range, more MP. Other that and or two other "fins," it's the same camera. The continuous shooting you're talking about will, unfortunately, capture as a very low MP rate.

If you see thereviews, you will find that one of 570's drawback was the the voice of motor (during Autofcus and Zoom) was recorded in the video.. So this is one improvement they have given in 565.

Yes the fundamental drawback of the 570 UZ is the dam zoom, there's about a one second lag between turning the ring and the zoom changing.

After using the SP-550...and comparing the SP-565 to the specs of the SP-570== the SP-565 Storage Media Types for versatility (xD that supports the Panorama mode & MicroSD card for up to the size of the card!!! for real Camcorder ability! even though the movies are not very high resolution-they are still excellent and have 2 rez choices, where the SP-570 only has 1.). Also the Image Size production is abit better with the SP-565....to be exact; the SP565= 3828 X 2794, whereas the SP-570 provides 3648 X 2736....the SP-570 has a hot-shoe adapter, the SP-565 does not, but you can purchase a hot-flash that attaches to the tripod screw. The SP-570 LCD and body is slightly larger than the SP-565= less battery life! The "hyper-crystal 2.7" display on SP-570 nice, vs. the 2.5" LCD display on the SP-565 is also VERY nice and not much different!! In the end, I purchased the SP-565....EXCELLENT CAMERA~in my opinion, the best choice of the two.
