olympus fe 230

I bought the fe 230 about 3 weeks ago, and the value is about what you could expect at this price range. As I am an artist and use photos mainly as subjects for painting, my primary interest is that color representation is accurate, especially of color nuances, and that it works well indoors. The only problem areas for me are first, the camera has trouble with reds, either they are too light or seem faded.In indoor work,light colors seem faded, not light, although I must admit this was on the automatic mode, not using the indoor or portrait features. When using the special modes, image quality is noticeably better. I find its ultra small size a bit of a disadvantage, since it tends to slip out of the hands. I like the lithium ion rechargeable battery. No fuss. Overall, its ok for the price, but the reds are disappointing. Thankfully, this doesnt happen to greens, blues, or yellows. Takes some pretty nice nature photos,especially in landscape mode, and seems to handle well in indoors dim light. Too bad with the reds,though.
