More megapixals to really show you how bad the camera takes pictures

What a shame. I own a 5 mega pixal Olympus camera that is almost three years old. I bought this new 7.1 mega pixal based on prior experience. Wow, how bad this new camera it takes pictures is really sad. My old Olympus in the default mode takes much better pictures than this new one in the highest supposed 7.1 mega pixel. I have wasted as much time as I want one trying to get this new camera to take better pictures. What really bites is that is I bought this thing the day before leaving for China for a two week trip so not I cannot even return it when I get back to lose 15% restocking fees. The things that sucked me into this deal were the past experience and the thin/slim design. Unfortunately now I am afraid to buy a higher end Olympus when I lose my restock fee and I am stuck taking bad pictures on this once in a lifetime trip. One little last comment of whining. When I go through the slide show on the computer that shows the old camera pictures and then the new camera pictures, it is absolutely noticeable. The new pictures looks as bad as my friends pictures taken with a Kodak easy share I think from this experience I would ask a rep to take pictures with the camera I am interested in and then download the pictures onto the sales floor computer to look at.
