When connecting camera to computer with USB cable, computer says no camera is detected

I loaded the "Olympus Master 2" software as directed, but when I connected the camera to the computer with the supplied USB cable to transfer my pictures, the computer says that no camera is detected. I have tried this several times and on different computers.

Try uninstalling the software and reinstalling it. Better yet, download the latest drivers and firmware from the Olympus website. remove the old software and reboot. Install the new drivers/firmware then see if the PC sees it. If you have VISTA, you may have to open it in Compatibility mode as there may not be any vista drivers written for it as of yet.

Also, most of the time, software provided by digital camera makers is largely bloatware. For accessing the images on the Memory Card, I'd recommend a memory card reader (less than $10 these days) and use Picasa 2 by Google as your photo management utility. It's free and fantastic.

I am having the same trouble. I was successful once. There must be a simple solution. The card reader I have doesnt allow the card to fit.
