Professional Reviews of the Olympus 400

  • 4.2 out of 5
Very nice point-and-shoot compact camera (DC Resource - 7/15/03)

The Olympus Stylus 400 is a competent point & shoot. The all-weather body is a nice addition, the camera takes relatively good pictures, and it comes with a remote control. The absence of manual controls, the lack of an autofocus illuminator, and image noise are all cited as drawbacks. read original review

Built like a tank ... takes great pictures (Steve's Digicams - 7/15/03)

An overwhelmingly positive review of the Olympus Stylus 400: It takes excellent images, its weatherproof body lets you keep shooting even after the rain starts, and its compact size makes it easy to bring anywhere. Mild image noise is present in low-light conditions. read original review

One of the better compact digicams out there. (Imaging Resource - 7/15/03)

Delivering better color than the Stylus 300, the Olympus Stylus 400 receives a very good review from this expert. Long battery life, good performance, and a weatherproof body make it one of the better compacts available (4/25/03) read original review

Better image quality than the Stylus 300. (Megapixel.net - 7/15/03)

Higher resolution and less noise make the Olympus Stylus 400 a better performer than its predecessor, the Stylus 300. Image quality, simplicity, and a rugged body make the camera a great choice for those who don't need manual controls. read original review

Shooting is simple and trouble-free (PC Magazine - 7/15/03)

Though it offers a minimal set of controls, the Olympus Stylus 400 is a good camera that will appeal to those who don't need anything more than a very capable point & shoot. More advanced photographers may be frustrated by the lack of control. read original review
