Check to see if your protect switch has slid into place. This will prevent the camera from writing to the card. But you can also just reformat it.

Only SD card has write protection switch, xD cards don't.

Probably it is easier to copy the pictures to the computer and, like James said, format the card.
Note however that if you should only format the card with the FAT command of the computer, followed by formating the card with the camera.
Otherwise the camera will not be able to use the card.

If the camera fail to do so, you can still delete pictures from an xD card with a computer.
There is no protection switch, as I said in an earlier reply.

I can't delete pictures from the card and even can'T put the pictures on the computer ,and when I try to capture a picture the camera writes out " write protection" :(...please help me !
