I'm looking for a camera with 5x zoom, looking to choose from the stylus 840, fuji z100fd & nikon s550

I'm not a guy who would print posters & stuff. I need a good zoom as I want to click some real good far off shots when I go on trekking. I want something which has an LCD which gives a good view of the pic even outdoors on a sunny day (some cameras are like you hardly make out whats on the screen!). I heard that olympus & fujifilm use the XD card , is it costlier ? And I also heard that the XD's are slower than the SD cards that most others like nikon, casio & panasonic use. Will it make a difference for normal photography (including in-house parties, outdoor shooting ( zoo, theme parks & thinks like those). You could also suggest any other camera from the one's I've mentioned above.

Check out my review of the Kodak Z1085IS. I foudn it a pleasant surprise and should definitely be up there on your list.

But of all those you mention, you may want to check out this resource. It takes pictures with each and you can compare them side by side.
