Editors' Comments
The Olympus Stylus 9000 features powerful 12-megapixel resolution that, combined with its 10x wide-angle zoom, allows users to take striking photographs that don't sacrifice on picture quality. Dual Image Stabilization allows you to still get the shot, even when experiencing life's bumps and jolts. A 2.7-inch HyperCrystal III LCD makes taking and reviewing your photos easier than ever, while a built-in HDMI port allows for convenient hook up to any HDTV. It's a solid "fun zoom" -- that is, compact point-and-shoot with a big zoom—but it does not film HD video, so we prefer the Panasonic ZS3.

Best Fun Zoom Cameras
"Fun zoom," isn't an official, industry-recognized term. It's just what we like to call the range of point-and-shoots with good picture quality, ease of use, portability, and big zooms. They're kind of like the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord of digital cameras--solid, mid-range products that are built to perform well, even if they aren't the most glamorous or luxurious out on the market. See how we rate four of them below.
